The Świętokrzyskie Mountains are among the oldest sacred landscapes in Europe. Long before Christianity arrived in Poland, fires were lit on their bald summits. A Benedictine abbey rose there in the twelfth century. Kings came to pray before battle. Pilgrims still climb the mountain today.
Almost none of this is known in the English-speaking world.
Holy Cross Path exists to change that. This site is for pilgrims, walkers, and curious travellers who want to arrive in Świętokrzyskie not as strangers, but as people who already understand something-about the landscape, the faith, and the long, stubborn story of the people who have lived and prayed here for a thousand years.
